The purpose of RISE Afterschool is to provide students a free-of-cost safe and enriching environment during the hours before or afterschool. RISE Afterschool stands for “Realizing Individual Student Excellence.” The program is funded through a partnership with the Department of Education’s 21st Century grant, UT Extension (Hickman County), and the University of Tennessee. Students are provided with academic enrichment opportunities that reinforce and complement their regular school-day academic program and provide supportive services to help them meet standards in the core content areas. All of our teachers are highly qualified in the state of Tennessee for their subject area, so Afterschool kids get the best possible assistance with their studies.
